VasCog conference Hong Kong 2018

From 14 to 17 November 2018, a large delegation of VCI researchers travelled from Utrecht to Hong Kong to attend the 9th International Conference of The International Society of Vascular Behavioural and Cognitive Disorders: VASCOG 2018. Our research group was very well represented: almost 20 researchers (including students, PhDs, postdocs and professor Biessels himself) were present, and everyone was selected for a poster or oral presentation!

Some highlights of the conference:

  • Professor Geert Jan Biessels led a debate on the topic: “Should silent stroke and high WMH burden be treated the same as symptomatic stroke?”
  • Nick Weaver represented the newly initiated Meta VCI Map consortium at the Global Collaborative Platform meeting and the main symposium.
  • Doeschka Ferro, Hugo Kuijf, Thomas Doeven and Bruno Robalo were selected to present their research at the Young Investigator meeting. Despite fierce international competition, Bruno won the Young Investigator Award with his presentation! Congratulations!
