Research focus
Structural brain connectivity in vascular cognitive impairment

Bruno is a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Yael Reijmer and Pr. Dr. Geert Jan Biessels. The overall aim of his project is to develop non-invasive MRI markers of brain abnormalities that cause cognitive impairment in patients with cerebrovascular disease. Bruno focuses on optimizing and standardizing the process for visualizing and characterizing (impairments in) brain connectivity using diffusion tensor MRI, with the intention to make this technique available as a diagnostic tool in clinical practice. Bruno also works in close collaboration with Dr. Alexander Leemans from the POVIDI lab, Images Sciences Institute.
