White matter alterations in Alzheimer’s and small vessel disease

Current projects
Naomi Vlegels her research focusses on assessing and quantifying the role of white matter alterations in both Alzheimer’s disease and small vessel disease using DTI. Her present research consists of two main projects. In the first the focus is on the effects of both Alzheimer’s and vascular disease on the structural brain network. The second project is a collaboration with colleagues in Munich in which advanced image processing is used to try and disentangle the effects of Alzheimer’s and small vessel disease on the white matter.
